Pendant Hedgehog. 2017. Cute hedgehogs carved in gemstone material as Moonstone, Tourmaline, Amethyst and Citrine are nested in 18 Karat gold baskets studded with diamonds. The hoops are made of 18 Karat gold set with Diamonds and shaped according to Cadeaux Jewelry’s Hamburg collection, and the pendants are attached to a 18 Karat gold chains. The hedgehog carvings are by master gemstone cutter Stefan Klein of Idar-Oberstein, Germany.

Design and creation by Tevin Baechtold Création Cadeaux. Tevin explores ideas, symbolisms and values through the medium jewelry working with unusual gemstones creating one-of-a-kind collectors pieces or variations with uniquely different features. Tevin trained as a goldsmith in the ateliers of Evert Hofacker in Germany where CADEAUX JEWELRY began in 1975. He graduated from Idar-Oberstein Germany and now is designer and production manager for CADEAUX JEWELRY.

Hedgehogs are mammals with a nocturnal life pattern that occur naturally in 17 species of hedgehog in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Hedgehogs hibernate and are able to roll into a tight ball with their spines pointing outwards as a defense protecting face, feet and tummy against predators.
