Ring Ginkgo Weimar. 2017. This creation expands on CADEAUX JEWELRY’S core theme of Ginkgo jewelry, which is created in reverence to a deep symbolism of harmony and love. The ring features a large genuine stone (Amethyst, Citrine, Smokey Quarz, or Rose Quarz) in solar-cut at its center, mounted in an 18 Karat white or rose gold ring and set with diamonds.

Design and creation by Tevin Baechtold Création Cadeaux. Tevin explores ideas, symbolisms and values through the medium jewelry working with unusual gemstones creating one-of-a-kind collectors pieces or variations with uniquely different features. Tevin trained as a goldsmith in the ateliers of Evert Hofacker in Germany where CADEAUX JEWELRY began in 1975. He graduated from Idar-Oberstein Germany and now is designer and production manager for CADEAUX JEWELRY.

The Ginkgo tree is also known as Maidenhair tree and is an ancient species that has existed over 300 million years and has endured natural and man-made cataclysms. It has become a symbol of longevity and endurance. The Ginkgo’s bi-lobed leaf, which is green when it blooms and turns a beautiful golden colour in autumn, moved German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in 1815 to see it as an icon of duality – of two-in-one and one-in-two, like a symbol of love and harmony, or a Western interpretation of Yin & Yang.
