Thailand’s English language daily Bangkok Post calls Parmigiani Fleurier’s partnership with Baechtold Limited and its presence at CADEAUX JEWELRY in Gaysorn Centre “big news for Thai timepiece enthusiasts” – 28th February 2020.
In its article Restoring luxury watches to their rightful place, Thailand’s English language daily Bangkok Post gives prominent coverage to the appointment of Baechtold Limited, owner of CADEAUX JEWELRY boutique at Bangkok’s high-end downtown shopping destination Gaysorn Centre, as exclusive distributor for Parmigiani Fleurier watches in Thailand.
In an interview with the newspaper, Mr. Davide Traxler, CEO of Parmigiani Fleurier, said about his newly signed distributor agreement with Baechtold Limited: “Building a strong presence doesn’t mean being splashy; it’s about building relationships and trust with clients. We have found the right partner, who will provide the best service and help us build a long-standing relationship with Thai customers.”
Mr. Traxler emphasised Parmigiani Fleurier’s female market, saying: “The watchmaking industry is too masculine. The consumption of ladies has changed but our industry has not changed enough. We need to listen more to female consumers in order to understand what is meaningful to them to give them the right products. We have to offer the same level of haute horlogerie as in men’s watches besides making them aesthetically appealing.”
He also underlined Parmigiani Fleurier’s unique origin in haute horlogerie on the basis of Michel Parmigiani’s decades-long specialisation in watch restoration in his traditional watch workshop in Couvet, Neuchatel, Switzerland, where Michel Parmigiani forged a reputation as a watchmaker and restorer of rare talent. Among his clients were collectors from the Sandoz family who recognised Michel’s rare ability and encouraged him to launch his own brand in 1996, financed by the Sandoz Family Foundation.
