Photographer Sirirat Lopanpaibul in Los Angeles shot the street picture for CADEAUX JEWELRY. To take this technically demanding shot Ms. Lopanpaibul captured the scene at dawn when daylight was just beginning to reflect off the pavement, early enough also for the area not to be crowded. She increased shutter speed to achieve a darker foreground and aperture for deeper sharpness.

k:drei advertising agency in Düsseldorf, Germany conceptually developed the advertisement, including the tagline Walk of Fame. k:drei mirrored the image for a desired top-right-to-lower-left diagonal effect, digitally enhanced the golden hue of the stars, darkened the blueish pavement and adapted the photo for advertising use.

CADEAUX JEWELRY Walk of Fame continues CADEAUX JEWELRY’s poster ad series launched in 2001. The desired message is all too clear. Placing the poster that carries the product in a famous location suggests that people who wear CADEAUX JEWELRY are stars in their own right.

Eye of the Panther. A one-of-a-kind creation with unusual gems and pearls. Two panther heads carved from Rubellite are set in 18 Karat white gold, studded with 111 diamonds, and attached to natural black Tahitian South Sea pearls especially selected by Andy Muller.

Thai fashion model Kung is wearing the CADEAUX JEWELRY Eye of the Panther necklace. The two panther heads are carved from a red to pinkish variety of Tourmaline (also named Rubellite) that were crafted in the traditional German gem-cutting center of Idar-Oberstein. The 111 brilliant-cut diamonds weigh over 1.50 carats. The natural black Tahitian South Sea pearls are sized 11-14 mm in diameter.

Alex explained that of a typical pearl harvest, only 30 % of pearls are usable for jewelry, however, only the top 1 % qualify for use in Andy Muller Pearl jewelry.

Four-time ISAF World Sailor of the Year Ben Ainslie

British Olympic sailing hero and Corum ambassador Ben Ainslie has been named the male winner of the 2012 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award at a ceremony held at the Mansion House, Dublin, Ireland on November 6. Decided by the votes of over 130 delegates of the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), the award is the highest accolade a sailor can receive in recognition of outstanding excellence in the sport of sailing over the past year. Winning his fourth successive sailing gold medal in London 2012 Summer Olympics, Ben Ainslie has secured his status as Britain’s most successful Olympic sailor of all time and the world’s greatest Olympic sailor of his generation.

The English competitive sailor now holds five Olympic medals – silver at Atlanta 1996, gold at Sydney 2000, gold at Athens 2004, gold at Beijing 2008, gold at London 2012 – making another sailing history.

The quadruple Olympic gold and silver medalist Ben Ainslie has been named World Sailor of the Year by the International Sailing Federation for a record of four times. The sailing legend has formerly gained titles in 1998, 2002 and 2008. On receiving this year’s award, the four-time ISAF World Sailor of the Year pays tribute to the team that has supported him.

It is with sadness that CADEAUX JEWELRY learned of the passing of Bruno Moser in Adelaide, Australia. Bruno was an independent and extraordinary artist who worked mostly with precious gemstones. Some of Bruno’s magic stone sculptures also found their way into unique CADEAUX JEWELRY creations.

Wilfried Bruno Moser – he disliked his first name and never used it – was a professional goldsmith from Basel Switzerland, who migrated to Australia as a young man where he literally dug for his luck in the Andamooka opal mines. In the 1970s he began carving opals and other gems into unique and wonderful sculptures. Several times a year he would pack his creations into a big duffy bag and get on a plane – to Switzerland, to the USA, to Hong Kong, to Japan and to Thailand – to meet jewelers, designers and consumers.

In the 1990s we together with Bruno staged numerous exhibitions. Through these events many of his creations found new owners among keen jewelry collectors in Bangkok and elsewhere. Bruno was always on hand to present his creations to individual consumers; however, he never lowered a price. If someone asked for a discount on one of his beautiful creations, he would tell the customer: “If you bargain you cheapen your taste.” When other cutters tried to replicate his creations, he giggled and said his forms were uncopyable: “The unique designs are in the stones, all I do is cut away the extra material. The art lies in knowing when to stop.”

CADEAUX JEWELRY was fortunate to acquire a number of Bruno Moser Stones in 1998, most of which have been worked into unusual and absolutely unique pieces of jewelry. Some stones are still awaiting being turned into a ring, a pendant or some other extraordinary piece of jewelry.

Bruno was greatly loved. He will be dearly missed. And he will continue to speak to us through his beautiful gemstone sculptures.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Bruno Moser.
